About Testing
Analyzing Symptoms Combined with Functional Testing Results Helps provide Answers We Need to Get to the Root Cause

Why Testing Matters in Functional Nutrition
Functional nutrition is all about getting to the root cause of health concerns. While symptoms provide valuable clues, they don’t always tell the full story. Testing allows us to go deeper, identifying imbalances and underlying factors that may be impacting your health.

I take a holistic approach, looking at how all body systems are interconnected rather than treating symptoms in isolation. By combining symptom burden analysis with targeted testing, we can create a clearer, more personalized roadmap to guide your healing journey.
Types of Testing & When to Consider Them
Comprehensive Bloodwork Testing
Why this type of testing?
Blood work provides essential insights into overall health, including nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, metabolic function, and more. I use functional lab ranges to identify imbalances which provides a preventative approach to health.

Out of Pocket Lab fee
$225

How it works
-
Your primary doctor may be able to order bloodwork and bill your insurance, though standard panels are often limited and do not provide all the markers I like to see.
-
Blood draws are done at Labcorp near you, or a mobile phlebotomist can come to your home.
HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) – Energy & Fatigue Testing
Why this type of testing?
If you experience chronic fatigue, brain fog, or unexplained energy fluctuations, this test measures intracellular mineral levels and heavy metal toxicity, key factors in energy production.

Lab fee
$150

How it works
A small hair sample is collected and sent to the lab for analysis.
GI-MAP – Digestive Health Testing
Why this type of testing?
If you struggle with bloating, IBS, constipation, diarrhea, or unexplained gut issues, this advanced stool test analyzes gut bacteria balance, pathogens, parasites, and markers of intestinal health. I also recommend this test for anyone dealing with chronic immune issues or autoimmunity (even without specific gastrointestinal symptoms).

Lab fee
$330

How it works
A home stool collection kit is mailed to you with step-by-step instructions for submission.
Food Sensitivity Testing
Why this type of testing?
This test looks for food sensitives (not food allergies) that can cause inflammation and a wide array of symptoms such as gastrointestinal distress, skin reactions, acne, fatigue, autoimmunity, weight gain, anxiety and depression, and more. Food sensitives are triggered when the gut lining is compromised, so this test is often recommended when doing a gut healing protocol. Trigger foods aren't necessarily meant to be avoided long term, but removing them temporarily can remove extra inflammation and stress on the body during healing.

Lab fee
$355

How it works
Blood draw at a Concentra or at home which is then mailed to the lab for analysis.
DUTCH Test – Hormone Testing
Why this type of testing?
If you are experiencing PMS, irregular cycles, mood swings, sleep disturbances, or perimenopausal symptoms, this test provides a comprehensive view of hormone balance and metabolism.

Lab fee
$180-$300 (varies based on test panel selection)

How it works
This is a dried urine test done at home, using a kit that is mailed to you.
